Ever get bored of happy endings? Why does every rom-com feel familiar? Happy F***ing Endings is an existential romance with a sci-fi twist that is the result of what happens if the characters of a film get bored with their stereotypical relationship story. Old friends Rachel and Iain, both in their 20s, desperately pursue their independent paths to what they think is true love, whilst slowly realising their love for one another. As their story reaches its inevitable happy ending, Clare, who so far has simply been a pawn in their courtship reveals that she is in fact in control of the path their story takes. Bored by the naïve developments Rachel and Iain’s story has taken thus far, she decides to make them re-live the scenes of their budding romance desperately trying to find a way to make a new love-story. However as things progress it looks that she may have to just face up to the reality that perhaps a romantic comedy will never really be able to break it's own rules, and that, inevitably, there will always be a happy f***ing ending.
