Reflejan las fantasías y los conflictos reales que originaron el proceso creativo de las más emblemáticas obras de siete pintores: Goya, Picasso, Frida Khälo, Sorolla, Romero de Torres, Dalí y Velázquez. Además de estos artistas, intervienen dramáticamente Stalin, Trotski, Eluard, Rivera, Duchamp, Gala, Buñuel, Lorca, Orson Welles, Man Ray, Einsestein, etc. Las cuatro mil imágenes que componen esta extraordinaria película fueron dibujadas manualmente por Aute, una a una y a lápiz, sin ayuda de ordenador.
